Today's Students, Tomorrow's Success

About Us

About Us

Welcome to Shelley School District, where tradition, excellence, and community come together to prepare students for a bright future. Serving 2,500 students across seven schools, we are proud to be the home of the Shelley Russets – a mascot recognized far and wide as a symbol of our hard work, resilience, and strong community spirit.

Who We Are

At Shelley School District, we believe in educating the whole child. Our dedicated teachers, staff, and families work together to create a safe, welcoming environment where students can learn, grow, and thrive. From their first days in kindergarten to graduation and beyond, our students are supported every step of the way.

Community Partnerships & Parent Involvement

At Shelley School District, we know it takes a village to raise and educate a child. That’s why we’re proud of our strong ties to local businesses, organizations, and families. Together, we create meaningful opportunities for students to connect classroom learning with real-world experiences.

Our parents are essential partners in this journey. From volunteering in classrooms and supporting school events to serving on advisory committees, our families play a vital role in shaping the educational experience. When schools and communities work hand in hand, great things happen for our students.

A Message from the Superintendent

Shelley is a wonderful place to receive an education. In today’s world, there are more options than ever for how families choose to educate their children—but no other setting provides the combination of value, opportunity, and personal connection that we offer in the Shelley School District.

From our high school students earning nearly 2,300 college credits last year, to our kindergarteners outperforming the state average on the Idaho Reading Indicator, students in Shelley are learning, growing, and preparing for bright futures. Our schools offer a wide range of electives, clubs, and activities to help students discover their interests and develop their talents. Whether it's music, theater, athletics, fine arts, or career technical education, our students consistently achieve at high levels.

While we are proud of our academic and extracurricular offerings, we believe the heart of a great education lies in relationships. We work hard to ensure that every child in our schools has at least one adult who knows them, believes in them, and supports their growth. Positive relationships create the foundation for meaningful learning.

A key part of our success comes from our commitment to Professional Learning Communities (PLCs). We dedicate time throughout the year for teachers to collaborate and focus on what matters most: student learning. Together, our educators ask essential questions—What do we want students to learn? How will we know if they've learned it? What will we do if they haven’t?—and they use the answers to improve instruction and ensure all students get the support they need.

At Shelley, our mission is to help students succeed in school and prepare them to thrive in life. We’re proud of our schools, our staff, and most of all, our students. Thank you for supporting the Shelley School District—we look forward to a great year of learning and growth together.
